VIRGINIA BEACH -- Shoppers know they can get great deals at outlets.
The same holds true for thrift stores, which have outlets, too.
"You take anything you want. You go up to the registers, they weigh it for you and you pay by the pound," explains Edith Shinkel, Goodwill's post retail director.
All housewares are 59-cents a pound. Clothing weighing less than 20 pounds costs $1.39 a pound; over 20 pounds, it's $1.19 a pound.
Carol Grimes shops at the outlet on Diamond Springs road every week. She enjoys going through the bins to find the good deals.
"I find new things in here all the time, price tags still on them from all the better stores," she says.
The outlet is open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Many of the items at the outlet are from other Goodwill stores.
"If it's something that either they have no room for in their location or it hasn't sold in their location, it comes back to the outlet," Shinkel adds.
Goodwill uses the money from the stores and the outlet to provide training, job opportunities and more.
