Charles Glen Adams, 27, is one of two officers under investigation for the theft of thousands of rounds of ammunition that surfaced at a Va. Beach home last month.

That home on Allegheny Loop belongs to the second officer, who is under investigation.

Adams resigned shortly after the investigation, said Chesapeake Police spokeswoman Dorienne Boykin.

Court documents show Adams served seven years as an officer and has no prior criminal record.

He’s charged of one count of petit larceny and is free on $1,000 bail. Adams is due in court for arraignment on December 3, according to the online court Website.

No charges have been placed against the other officer, but he is on administrative leave.

According to the Chesapeake General District Court online docket, the ammunition theft was reported on June 26.
