Update: Police arrested 23-year-old Damien D'Amato Lawson of the 700 block of S. Rosemont Rd in Virginia Beach. 

Lawson has been charged with attempted robbery, abduction, breaking and entering with intent, wearing a mask and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with the robbery on September 3.  Other charges are pending.

VIRGINIA BEACH--Detectives need help identifying a suspect who recently robbed a Virginia Beach checking cashing company.

Police say since August 5, one robbery and two attempted robberies have occurred at Ace Cash Express at 1496 Lynnhaven Parkway.  Police say the cases appear to be related.

According to police, each time the suspect held a shirt or bandanna over his face, displayed a handgun and demanded money. 

On September 3, the suspect allegedly forced an employee back into the business after closing.

Police released a composite sketch of the suspect.
