1 charged, 3 sought for home burglaries in York County

YORK COUNTY--A man is charged and three others are wanted for committing home burglaries in York County.

20-year-old Codi Alexius Taylor of York Co. was arrested Wednesday night; warrants have been issued for three North Carolina man - 21-year-old Christopher Delante Moore, 21-year-old Malik Jihad Adams and 20-year-old Elijah Aimen Joyner, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

Authorities say they would ring doorbells at night to see if anyone was home and then force their way in.  Several burglaries have occurred since August 27.

"A night time burglary is really rare. Most all burglaries happen in the daytime when people have gone off to work or school whatever," Sheriff Danny Diggs said.

August 27th – Cranwood Ct. in the Woodlake Crossing subdivision
Monday– Wallace Ct. in the Meadowlake Farms subdivision
Tuesday– Gardenville Dr. in the Tabb Lakessubdivision
Tuesday– Militia Ct. in the  Patriot Village subdivision

Late Tuesday night on Chanticlair Drive, a homeowner was actually awakened by the burglar who shined a light in his face, according to authorities.  His dog started to bark and chased the man out of the house through the rear sliding door. Nothing was taken.

Sheriff Diggs advises homeowners to lock their doors and windows before they turn in at night. The Sheriff also has some advice for the burglars.
