NEWPORT NEWS -- A Newport News woman accidentally drove her car into a building Thursday morning on Jefferson Ave. in Oyster Point.

Instead of putting the car in reverse, the 37-year-old driver accidentally put it into drive, taking out a front window and a wall of the business that used to be called Inferno.

Rick Pistone was in the process of renovating the space to open a sandwich shop in July.

The accident will cause a slight delay in his opening.

"What can you do somebody lost control of their vehicle. Go with the flow," said Pistone. "As long as nobody was hurt that's the biggest thing it won't set me back too much. Probably about a week."

Police say the driver was not charged.
