HAMPTON -- Getting around on the Peninsula Saturday took a little bit creativity and a lot of work.
But the snow showers and slick roads couldn't slow down business at Blue Horseshoe Tattoo in Hampton.
Dozens of people ignored the winter weather warnings to play pool inside the parlor and get some ink.
"I figured I'd come and get a tattoo to take some of the time up," said Hampton University student Angela Cholmondeley.
"Business is booming," said the store manager who goes by the nickname Rhino. "We look for bad weather because a lot of the blue collar workers work outside and if they can't work, they tend to come in and get some ink."
Last weekend the tattoo parlor stayed open through the storm and the manager said they did well. Saturday night the place was packed.
"This is one job you hope to work to death and as you can see, we stay busy," said Rhino.
But just down the road at Cato Fashions, business was scarce.
"It's been a slow day," said manager Sally Petrovich. "We had a little spurt during lunch and then it died off."
Last weekend Petrovich had to shut down the store Saturday because of the snow and Sunday was slow too.
"Once you lose that sometimes it's hard to make up," explained Petrovich. "No more snow, please."
