GALAX, Va. (AP) -- Appalachian Power says it will be days before electricity is restored to all customers left without service from a winter storm in southwestern Virginia.

The storm knocked out power to 128,000 customers in the region. About 79,000 Appalachian Power customers were without power on Friday night.

The utility says thousands of crew members are working to restore service. It expects power to be restored by Tuesday night in Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe counties.

Customers elsewhere in Appalachian Power's Virginia service area should see their lights come back on sooner, although the utility says there may be delays in expected restoration times in some places.
