VIRGINIA BEACH -- An employee at a Va. Beach hotel was shot during a late night robbery.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Country Inn and Suites on Burton Station Road.
Police say the robber jumpted the counter and struggled with the clerk.
The clerk was struck several times and the gunman ran off.
The suspect is black male, 5’9"-5’10" tall, skinny, around 18 or 19 years old, with short black hair. He had a black cloth, possibly a handkerchief, around the lower part of his face. He was wearing dark clothes and blue jeans.
The employee was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover, police said.
