HAMPTON -- Police in Hampton are trying to determine what led to an early morning shooting incident in which two adult males were injured.
Shortly before 5 a.m., Hampton Police responded to the 500 block of Harriet St. for a report of multiple gunshots fired. Upon arrival they located two adult males inside the residence who had been shot. One was struck multiple times, including in the upper torso. He was last reported to be in stable condition. The other victim was shot once in the lower torso.
According to CPL Mary Shackleford, the shots were fired by someone outside the residence into the building. It's not known if they were in a vehicle or on foot. It's also believed that someone inside the house returned fire. There were several adults in the residence at the time. She didn't know if there was some type of party going on or not. There were no juveniles present.
There is no suspect information available at this time.
