Noon: The accident has been cleared and all lanes have reopened. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

SUFFOLK-A tractor trailer hit a light pole in Suffolk early Friday, causing police to close one lane in the 2500 block of Holland Road/Route 58.

Spokeswoman Diana Klink says the driver lost control just before 4:00 a.m. and hit a light pole, causing power lines to fall onto the road.

One eastbound lane is closed; both eastbound lanes may close off and on as the tractor trailer is towed and required emergency repairs are made, she stated.

Klink said it could take up to five hours to get the rig towed away and make repairs.

There were two other accidents recently along Holland Road - one around 4:00 a.m. on December 10, where the rig overturned in the 3200 block, and one in the 6400 block of Holland Road on November 29.
