JAMES CITY CO.- Members of a James City Co. church are preparing a second truckload of items for Hurricane Sandy victims in Queens, NY.

Christ Community Church in Toano is collecting gently-used furniture and appliances. Pastor Randy Garner says he's working with the Wesleyan churches in the New York area to make sure the items get to those who are most in need.

On Friday morning, a local furniture store donated items that will fill half of the tractor-trailer parked at Anderson's Corner, 85574 Richmond Road.

There's room for other donations of gently-used items in working condition, cleaning supplies and non-perishable foods.

The rig will remain at the site until it's full. They hope to get enough donations so they can leave on Monday.
