Isolated strong thunderstorms are forming across parts of the region and we have already seen one severe thunderstorm warning for sections of Gates County, NC up into Suffolk.
"The main worry with these storms are large hail and the slow movement causing possible flooding of some poor-drainage areas," according to 13News Now Chief Meteorologist Jeff Lawson. "There is also the chance for some winds to gust over 60 mph."
Tomorrow should be pretty similar, although maybe about 2 degrees cooler. There may also be a slightly higher risk of a larger area of storms forming.
By the weekend things should dry out a bit. Father's Day is looking pretty nice!
In Isle of Wight there was a glitch in the county's automated emergency system Wednesday afternoon. The system was incorrectly telling residents they were under a tornado warning. Officials say the glitch has been fixed.
