NORFOLK -- Salvation Army volunteers spent part of the Thanksgiving Holiday feeding those in need.

They fed thousands of people who might not have otherwise gotten a Thanksgiving dinner.

The captain of the Salvation Army of South Hampton Roads says he always appreciates the community donating their time and money.

88 cents of every dollar donated goes to helping others.
