CHESAPEAKE -- Rubber ducks will take to the Intracoastal Waterway in Chesapeake on Saturday for the 8th Annual Hampton Roads Rubber Duck Race.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy food, games, and music and at noon, 13News Now Meteorologist Evan Stewart will read a story with kids called "Stop, Drop, and Roll."

About 2:15 p.m. thousands of rubber ducks will float down the water to win prizes for lucky duck participants.  More than 2,000 people are expected to take part and cheer the ducks to victory.

Among the prizes are a 2014 Nissan Versa, courtesy of Hall Automotive, a $1,000 dollar shopping spree from Ashley Furniture HomeStore

All proceeds benefit CHIP, a local non-profit whose mission is to build a healthy community by building a healthy child. The agency focuses on the critical first 2000 days of life, ensuring that we lay the foundation for a child’s future health, academic and workplace success.
