PORTSMOUTH -- Several Portsmouth streets will be closed Tuesday night to get ticket holders in to the sold out Phish concert at nTelos Pavilion.
The 6,500+ tickets went quickly, most selling within 15 minutes.
At 5:15 p.m., streets around the Pavilion -- the 300 block of Columbia Street, the Crawford connectors and the Traffic Circle -- will be closed to vehicles so people can safely walk to the venue on the waterfront.
Gates to the pavilion open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert is expected to end around 11:30 p.m., with traffic control continuing until pedestrians are safely to their destinations.
In the downtown/historic district, restaurants are running specials and hotels are booked with Phish fans.
Business owners say it's a great start to the summer tourist season.
