VIRGINIA BEACH -- A police K-9 dog, Bear, helped nab a serial cigarette bandit in Virginia Beach Monday, police said.

According to police, Bear tracked a suspect to a nearby yard in the 4400 block of Lark Lake Court after an alleged robbery at 7-Eleven on Princess Anne Road. The suspect was not injured during the arrest.

A second suspect was found in the area based on a description given to officers. 

Police say over the last two weeks, the two men stole large quantities of Newport cigarettes from six 7-Eleven locations.  They say between midnight and 4 a.m. the men would scale the counter into the register area while threatening employees.

Police charged 45-year-old Raymond Lee Harold Jr. of Norfolk with seven counts of robbery, six counts of wearing mask in public, grand larceny and conspiracy.

Police also charged 22-year-old Carl Lee Walton Jr.of Virginia Beach with two counts of robbery, conspiracy, and possession of controlled substance.
