ELIZABETH CITY, NC - Questions without answers swirl around the murder of a 24-year-old Elizabeth City, NC man.

Jonathan Carson was gunned down in his home on W. Colonial Avenue on June 11, 2012 and no one has been arrested in the case.

Jonathan's mom, Jeri, reminds people that even a small lead may make a difference.

"As you can imagine, this is the worst thing to happen to our family.  It's senseless and it didn't need to happen," Jeri said.  "It's important we figure out who did this horrible thing."

As the family grieved, friends began raising money for a reward to help find the killer.

On Tuesday afternoon, Carson's parents, along with law enforcement officials, announced a $10,000 reward in hopes someone would come forward with information that leads to the arrest of those responsible.  $8,500 of that amount was raised through efforts of family and friends.

If you can help, call Crime Line at 252-335-5555.
