SURRY CO. -- The founder of the animal shelter at Michael Vick's former home will be in court on November 13 on animal cruelty charges.
Tamira Thayne is accused of inadequately caring for the animals at her dog sanctuary, as well as misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.
Surry County Animal Control officers say Thayne was running the facility without state approval.
Thayne says she's been taking proper care of the animals.
