CHESAPEAKE-- Police have identified the man who died from an apparent gunshot wound outside a home on Elco Street in Chesapeake Tuesday.
Police say 26-year-old Richard Alexander was transported to Norfolk General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The SWAT team was on the scene as a precaution because it wasn't clear whether anyone was inside the home.
The investigation is ongoing.
