VIRGINIA BEACH -- A Norfolk man is in jail charged with killing a man two days before Christmas.

Police arrived on Harrier Street to find the body of Lucious Williams III, 22, and another man wounded but alive.

Spokesman MPO Adam Bernstein said the victims had returned home from a club and were standing on Harrier Street around 2:30 a.m.

A dispute led to the shootings, he said.

On December 28, police arrested Steven Walton at a home in Norfolk on charges of murder, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

On the night of the shooting, stray bullets pierced neighbor Johnnie Saunders' home while he and his fiancee slept in their bed.

"They came within inches of hitting us. One hit the railing below, and one went through the bed, almost in the center of the bed," said Saunders.

"Just a little bit higher I don't know if it would have killed her or not, but she would have been shot, or I could have been shot."

Saunder's two sons, his daughter in-law, and a grandbaby were also in the house. They were all fine.
