NORFOLK- A Norfolk police detective faces one charge of soliciting a prostitute after a sting conducted last week, court documents show. According to court records, Detective Alan Lawson, 49, was arrested for solicitation of prostitution on July 10th in the Oceanview neighborhood.
A spokesman for the Norfolk Police Department confirmed that Lawson was assigned as a detective in the vice unit at the time of his arrest.
He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, the police spokesman said.
Lawson was not booked into jail and was given a notice to appear in court on August 11th.
