NORFOLK-- The Glenwood Park Civic League is hoping new neighborhood watch signs will deter crime.
After a rash of recent burglaries and break-ins, the group got approval from the city to display the signs.
John Runyan explained his neighborhood started a watch group about a year ago. The city installed three signs, but his civic league wanted to make more of an impression. They got together to buy an additional five signs.
"We want criminals to know that we report all suspicious activity to police," he remarked.
Runyan found neighborhood watch signs online, priced at $30 for large signs and $20 for smaller signs.
He says the city will install them for free. "We do think the signs will make a statement."
