NORFOLK-- A man, once accused of murdering a police officer, is facing murder charges again.
Kareem Turner is now in jail, accused of killing 35-year-old Dajuan Glover on Jason Avenue Wednesday morning.
Turner, 26, was also accused of murdering off-duty Norfolk police officer Victor Decker back in 2010. Those charges were withdrawn due to lack of evidence on March 17, 2014. A witness in the case had perjured himself. His case was deemed Nolle prosequi, which means the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s attorney decided not to prosecute the case at that time.
Four months to the day after Turner was released from jail, he was arrested again on July 17, 2014. This time, detectives believe he shot and killed Glover, leaving his body in the area of Jason Avenue and Hancock Avenue.
He is scheduled for an arraignment Friday morning.
A candlelight vigil is planned for Glover Thursday night at 7 p.m. on Jason St.
