NEWPORT NEWS (AP) -- A 13-year-old middle school student in Newport News has been charged with making threats to bomb following a post he made on Facebook.

Newport News police said they were notified Monday night that a Gildersleeve Middle School student posted that he was tired of the disrespect at school and that he might "give a couple of good pipe bombs on people."

The name of the boy has not been released.

Police say when they arrived at the boy's home in the Denbigh section they didn't find any bomb making material. He was released into the custody of his parents after being charged with threats to bomb.

Schools spokesman Michelle Price told 13News the principal was preparing a phone message to send to parents and she would forward it.
