Gold Key I PHR Hotels will break ground this spring on the 23-story hotel at the corner of Main, Granby and Plume streets.

Developer Bruce Thompson said the new conference center will be one of the finest hotels in Virginia.

The $126 million development includes a luxury 300-bed hotel, a 50,000 square-foot conference center, a ballroom that can accommodate 1,500 people, a 600-space parking garage and three restaurants.
