NORFOLK -- People on Barre Street said a blowout fight sent two young girls to the hospital Sunday.
Police officers were in the Lindenwood section of the city for hours beginning around 7:00 p.m.
"They was trying to set the house on fire!" Ashley Todd shouted. "They was throwing chairs, and bottles, and lighter fluid, and knives over here in the grass."
Todd said more than a dozen people from across the street broke windows and trashed her porch and living room. She told 13News Now the fight started Saturday when her cousin got into a fight with a neighbor.
"I mean everybody got scrapes, and bruises, and cut up jeans and T-shirts," Todd said.
Police said in the midst of the commotion, the girls were hit by glass when 35-year-old Markiya Shanelle Todd threw a bottle. They were cut on the cheek and taken to the hospital for treatment.
"I don't know how the baby got cut. I don't know why would you bring your child out here, drinking and stuff and leaving her to go around the corner to see another fight," Todd stated.
Todd is charged with two counts of malicious wounding.
