PASQUOTANK COUNTY, NC -- The National Weather Service confirms that three significant tornadoes touched down Friday night.

According to a press release, the Mount Hermon neighborhood, Foreman Bundy and Methodist Church Roads got hit with an EF-2 storm.

The Meadowland Mobile Home Park was most likely damaged by a "high-end" EF-1 and the Nixonton area got hit by a weaker storm but still considered to be an EF-1 tornado.

Initial reports from damage assessment teams indicate that 13 homes were destroyed and at least 17 were damaged.

There are still no reports of injuries.

Thousands remain without electricity, according to NC Dominion Power there are roughly 3100 customers without power.

Elizabeth City Public Utilities estimates there are 4000 customers without power, some could go without electricity for several days.

The county plans to open the landfill on Sunday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to allow people to drop off storm debris.
