EDENTON, NC -- A chimney on a historic building in Edenton, NC partially collapsed during Friday morning's storm.

Officials at Barker House say about a third of one of the chimney's on the west side fell to the ground.

No one was hurt and Friday's sidewalk sale and tea were going on as scheduled.

Fire department crews are assessing damage to the John Page Masonic Lodge on Oakum Street, which blew off its foundation.

"The stairs used to be to that door and that buliding shifted about 10-12 feet," said George Washington.

No injuries were reported at that location.

Fire Chief Charlie Westbrook says the storm blew through around 4:00 a.m., dumping a lot of rain on bicylists taking part in the annual Cycle NC event.

"We went to check on the bicyclists who were camping at the waterfront to make sure they were okay.  There was a lot of rain and some standing water, but everyone was fine," he said.

The National Weather Service also received reports of numerous trees down from thunderstorms and wind in Edenton and Chowan.
