WILLIAMSBURG -- F-16 jets intercepted two small planes on Saturday after they entered a temporary no-fly zone over Williamsburg.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command says the first plane entered the restricted area at 5:30 p.m. and the second plane arrived roughly 15 minutes later.

Two fighter jets escorted the Cessna 182 and the Piper PA32 away from the no-fly zone. Both planes were allowed to continue their flights.

Officials say the incidents were not related.

The airspace was restricted due to President Barack Obama arriving in Williamsburg to prepare for Tuesday's debate against Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
