Masked man shoots owner of Chesapeake nail salon during robbery

CHESAPEAKE -- Police are searching for a man who robbed and shot a nail salon owner in Chesapeake Friday night. 

Authorities received the call in the 900 block of Great Bridge Boulevard around 8:15 p.m. Friday. 

Chesapeake police say that's when a man, wearing a ski mask, entered the rear of the salon and took money from the business and two patrons. 

As the suspect exited the business, he shot the owner in the leg. The gunshot victim was transported to Norfolk General Hospital with non-life theatening injuries. 

The Suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chesapeake Police Department immediately.
