CHESAPEAKE-- The bodies of a man and his grandson were recovered from the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake on Friday.
Police identified the victims as 60-year-old Allan R. Williams and his 7-year-old grandson from North Carolina, who was visiting his grandparents for the week.
Williams' body was found near the Great Bridge Bridge mid-morning and his grandson was located around 2:00 p.m.
Police were called to the area off N. Battlefield Blvd. around 9:15 a.m. when someone reported seeing a body.
A witness told police a man had been crabbing in the canal with a young child on Wednesday.
Investigators found a car nearby, but no one was inside.
Authorities said the situation doesn't seems suspicious.
