VIRGINIA BEACH -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Friday morning.
Officers were called to the 700 block of South Rosemont Road around 12:15 a.m. where they found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was taken to the hospital.
Detectives spent the bettter part of two hours gathering evidence and talking to potential witnesses.
One neighbor tells 13News Now that she heard seven or eight gunshots and she got down on the ground.
When police arrived, she found out that a stray bullet hit the front driver-side window of her SUV. She said what scared her the most was how close the bullet came to hitting her house while she, her mother and a friend were inside.
A motive for the shooting is not yet known and no arrests have been made. An investigation is now underway.
