NEWPORT NEWS-- Police say a 19-year-old man was shot in Newport News Wednesday afternoon.
The victim told police that he was walking in the area of 18th Street and Marshall Avenue when he heard a shot and felt a stinging sensation in his side.
The victim then walked to the 2000 block of Marshall Avenue where police found him suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
The man was taken the hospital.
Police have not released any information about a shooter or the victim's condition.
