Police recover $100,000 in stolen alcohol, hair products

VIRGINIA BEACH -- Police serving a warrant in Norfolk Friday recovered nearly $100,000 of stolen merchandise.

Police charged Ronnie Riddick with 5 felony counts each of commercial breaking and entering, grand larceny, conspiracy and burglary tools.

Police said the search followed a year-long investigation into more than 60 commercial burglaries committed in 16 jurisdictions, including areas from Northern Virginia to Atlanta, Georgia.

Police say Ronny Riddick committed burglaries of commercial buildings, including Alcohol Beverage Control stores and various Beauty Supply chains.

Police tell 13News Now the vast majority of items recovered were hair extensions, hair cutting equipment and alcoholic beverages. 

Riddick is being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Facility with a no bond.
