VIRGINIA BEACH -- The Judeo-Christian Outreach Center got some good news Friday - in the form of a check for $50,000.
The money came from the Dominion Virginia Power Foundation.
It will be used to repair the 70-year-old buildings that are home to 50 homeless people.
Each day, the Judeo Christian Outreach Center feeds 100 people who might otherwise go hungry.
The Center also has a drug and alcohol rehab program as well as a back-to-work program.
"With everything that we need -- windows, doors, air conditioning and heating -- it couldn't have come at a better time. It really couldn't. We were sitting up here wondering if raising the funding to do it," said Kirk Welch, the center’s executive director.
Last year, the foundation awarded $50,000 to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
