JAMES CITY COUNTY- Hampton Roads cities and counties have been trying to find the best way to deal with the growing popularity of chicken keeping.

James City County has decided to let residents help decide whether the zoning ordinance should be amended to allow chickens on residentially-zoned property.

--fill out the online survey by January 13, 2014
--send written comments to the James City County Planning Division, 101-A Mounts Bay Rd., Williamsburg, Va., 23185.

If you want to give your opinion in person, attend the county's Policy Committee meeting on January 16 3 p.m., It's in Building D of the Government Center at 101 Mounts Bay Rd.
