NORFOLK -- A man died in an industrial accident Tuesday afternoon at Norfolk International Terminals.
A spokesman for Virginia Port Authority says the accident involved a light pole falling onto a small car at the North Berth of NIT, killing the man inside.
Port police officers responded about 1:25. They removed the victim from the car and began administering CPR.
Norfolk emergency crews also responded. Paramedics pronounced the male victim dead at the scene.
His name will be released after his family has been notified.
NIT says the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
