YORK COUNTY -- Interstate 64 was shut down in both directions for a portion of the afternoon Monday following an accident with injuries.
According to State Police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya, lanes were shut down in order for med-flight to land and take off shortly after 1:30 p.m.
Anaya says secondary crashes occurred and caused property damage but no further injuries were reported.
The westbound lanes were opened around 2:45 p.m.
Traffic was backed up about eight miles when the eastbound lanes reopened around 4 p.m.
