Suspect in Hampton killing sentenced

UPDATE 11/7:  A jury convicted Jerrell Speller of homicide Thursday and sentenced him to life plus 33 years, Hampton Police tweeted. 

HAMPTON- The suspect in the Sunday morning murder of in Hampton is under arrest.

22-year-old Christopher Allen Moses of Newport News was shot and killed as he went into a friend's home on Saint George Way.

Police say 23-year-old Jerrell Marquise Speller of Hampton fired the fatal shot.

Speller was arrested at a Norfolk motel on charges of murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, discharging a firearm inside a residence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
