RICHMOND - The push is on across Virginia to get 1,000 children adoption.
The “Virginia Adopts: Campaign for 1,000,” aims to match children in foster care with permanent families.
“Of the 4,000 children in Virginia’s foster care system, about one thousand children are ready for, and eagerly awaiting, adoption," said Gov. Bob McDonnell in launching the program in May.
Regional Kick-off events are designed to further promote the Campaign for 1,000 and highlight some of the children anxious to have a home.
