With temperatures starting the day Thursday in the teens and "warming" into the lower 30s during the afternoon we will not see any significant melting of the snow in areas that stay shaded. Spots however that see the sun hitting them, especially dark surfaces like the road, will see melting. With temperatures dropping back below freezing Wednesday night any spots have have melted will re-freeze.

A significant warming trend moves in Friday with highs approaching 50 and even warmer weather expected over the weekend.

Dominion Power says they aren't expecting any major issues but have contractors available if they are needed.

"We also encourage our customers to use energy wisely and unplug any appliances they're not using. During restoration, that helps speed up the process and reduce chances of a recurring outages," said Dominion spokeswoman Bonita Harris.
