NORFOLK -- Traffic is backed up on I-264 West and Brambleton Avenue as crews work to remove a flipped A tractor-trailer.

13News Now reporter Karen Hopkins was in the area Tuesday when she saw the tractor-trailer flip and a good Samaritans rush to free the driver.

Hopkins spoke with a man driving behind the truck when it flipped.  He didn’t think twice about putting himself in danger to free the driver.

"I seen the tractor-trailer turned over and I did what my instincts told me to do -- go help the driver out," Bo Shallis said. "By that time I jumped on the truck and pulled him out he was dazed and confused a little bit. Next thing I know, he was bleeding from his arm pretty bad. I took my shirt off and wrapped it around him. That’s when the other guys came off the street to help me with him. I reacted quicker than what I should have."

Officials don't know yet what caused the crash.  Witnesses say the tractor-trailer driver didn't appear to be speeding.
