FRANKLIN-- A Franklin man has been arrested on child pornography charges after investigators say they found illegal porn on his home computer.
Investigators say 52-year-old Michael Alan Butzlaff of the 2200 block of Elmwood Drive posed as a young boy or girl online to solicit nude pictures of children over the Internet.
Authorities say they found a large cache of obvious child pornography on a computer seized from Butzlaff's home. The computer was connected to a 47" monitor, according to police.
Butzlaff is charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of using a communication systems to facilitate offenses involving children.
Butzlaff is being held with no bond at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities say there is no evidence that Butzlaff had physical contact with any child.
Isle of Wight police learned of the activity from a law enforcement task force in Bedford County which works with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
