PORTSMOUTH -- A fire broke out at Portsmouth Naval Hospital Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. on the roof near the sixth floor of the 18-story medical center.
The fire was sparked by an air compressor that was on-site for construction purposes, according to hospital spokesperson Rebecca Perron. The fire did not breach the building and no structural damage has been reported.
The building was evacuated for a short time as crews worked to extinguish the blaze. No one was hurt during the incident.
