DUCK, NC - Fire badly damaged a store in Duck, NC Thursday morning.

A tweet with a photo from Jonathan Rhudy said "Nearly 30 firefighters from #OBX keep working the blaze at Wings in #Duck, N.C. The pirate in front of store is safe."

The photo shows a Nags Head Fire Rescue ladder truck and firefighters spraying water on the building. Many sections of the roof were charred.

Fire officials were called to the store on Duck Road around 7:20 a.m. and were still on the scene at 11:15 a.m.

The company web site says it's a beachwear chain that carries beach apparel, accessories and souvenirs.

Video posted by Carolina Designs Realty said the fire destroyed the store and that fire departments from all over the beach, including Dare and Currituck counties, responded.

There was no word on what started the fire or the extent of the damage.

No injuries were reported.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
