JAMES CITY COUNTY -- Picking up illegal signs. It's more dangerous than you might think.
When James City County senior zoning officer John Rogerson went to pick one up, he was shocked at what he found.
"It had razor blades and roofing tar substance on the back of it. The potential was there for me to seriously harm myself. I was very angry. I took it to the police department," says Rogerson.
The county is among many localities stepping up efforts to keep the signs out of sight.
