VIRGINIA BEACH -- With the general election still a few months away, candidates for Virginia's second congressional district will debate for the first time this election season Thursday night.
Republican candidate Scott Rigell has had a change of heart about participating in the debate with one of the other candidates.
Initially, Rigell said he wouldn't show up if Independent candidate Kenny Golden were allowed to participate.
Both candidates and the Democratic incumbent, current US Representative Glenn Nye will debate Thursday night at Princess Anne High School.
It's uncertain if Rigell will refuse any future debates that include Golden.
The debate is open to the public and starts at 7 p.m. in the Princess Anne School Auditorium.
