HAMPTON -- Police are looking for the suspect who allegedly drugged a boy playing  youth football in a Hampton park Saturday.

According to Hampton Police spokeswoman Cpl. Mary Shackelford, the 10-year-old boy was in Gosnold Hope Park around noon when he was approached by an unknown man who offered him a pill, which he then ingested.

Shackelford said the boy later complained of experiencing a minor medical condition.  Medics were dispatched, however the juvenile did not require medical attention.

Officers later received additional information that other children were also approached by the alleged suspect, but none consumed the substance.

The subject is described as a slim, black male, 5'8" to 5'9", 17 to 24 years old with braids in his hair. He was last seen wearing a blue football jersey with the number 33.

Shackelford said there are increased patrols in and around the area to maintain a high visibility and additional officers will be in place for future sporting events.

Shackelford asks parents to speak with their children if they may have been at Gosnold Hope Park to see if others were approached.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
