RICHMOND -- A Chesterfield County man faces charges stemming from the theft of a Richmond fire truck.

Richmond police said Tuesday that 20-year-old Zachary D. Oakey of North Chesterfield is charged with burglary and grand larceny.

The mid-size fire truck was taken from a city garage sometime between 4 p.m. Feb. 3 and 6 a.m. Feb. 4. It was found undamaged parked behind a building in the same block.

According to WRIC in Richmond, Oakey was also charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny in connection with a stolen ambulance in Henrico County in October, when he was just 19. He broke into the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad building, stole an ambulance and was later arrested when public safety officials saw him driving the vehicle around. The case was sent to a grand jury in January.

According to Richmond Police, the investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.
