JAMES CITY COUNTY - After a week on the run, a bull is safe and back at home.

Authorities say the bull was caught Monday morning.

It wandered onto a neighbor's property and he herded it in with his cows for the owner to recover, said Major Steve Rubino with James City County Police.

Last week, police received numerous complaints about two bulls off Forge Road. They'd escaped from a nearby farm. One bull was caught (shot by police) and had to be euthanized; the second disappeared, so that prompted authorities to put up a warning sign at intersection on Forge and Richmond Road.

Rubino said the owner tried but failed to capture one of the bulls on Tuesday.

He said the owner was concerned that someone might approach the dangerous animal or that someone could be hurt if their vehicle hits it.
